Weekend Plans

Ahh, this weekend I'm looking forward to working on the Save the Dates, beginning to think about Christmas gifts (i know my brother is just DYING for a powerbook), more house projects, and (I never thought I would say this...) painting the ceiling in the studio! I'm still up in the air over a wall color for the studio, but I want something inspirational... The one thing about living in a house in Fishtown is that I'm never at a loss for weekend projects.

Weekend plans

This weekend marks Part II of the moving/painting/cleaning/(un)packing extravaganza. I'm looking forward to settling into the new house, cooking in my new kitchen, having some people over for Halloween before going to a few parties. Also, I can't wait to make and devour some pumpkin pie!

I dreamt of having a fantastic record collection the other night. I hate it when I have/purchase things only in my dreams. But it does inspire me to be an active collector.

Also, I neeeeed some of these Flora & Fauna posters. Lovely.

Weekend plans

This weekend, I'm looking forward to being one step closer to moving into the new place up in Fishtown, buying paint, having just-moved-in takeout with my family and picking up some awesome furniture for the house! I was hoping to get a bulk of the furniture moving done tomorrow, but there may be a rain delay seeing as the forecast is a "70% chance that your moving plans will be fucked!" Thank you, meteorologist in my head, for keeping it real.

Culinary Aspirations

With installation finished here at work and Roger working all weekend, I'm hoping to clear the cobwebs out of the oven.

Top Five Projects:

1. Empanadas. R has such a love for these Argentinian treats. I know I can never make them as good as the memory of his grandmother's empanadas, but I can try.

2. Apple Pancakes. Need I say more? Yes, I do. These would be awesome with some brown sugar whipped cream.

3. Milk braised Chicken with Lemon, Cinnamon & Sage. This sounds/looks absolutely mouth-watering. And who doesn't love a roast chicken?

4. Key Lime Bars. From one of my favorite Hawaiian blogger chefs. (Because there is a vast number of Hawaiian blogger chefs out there. Actually, you would be surprised.) Anyway, I'm a sucker for Key Lime Pie. But with a Hawaiian twist? I'm sold.

5. Jello Shots. Just Kidding! After last night, the last thing that sounds appetizing to me is a recipe for "How to get drunk. Fast!"

Real #5. Mongolian Beef. I need to use the stockpile of beef that is taking residence in my freezer. And It would be awesome if I could use it for homemade Chinese food.
